About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Coordinator - Health Policy and Government Affairs to join the Legal Services team. This role provides high-level coordination and administrative support for the Health Policy & Governmental Affairs team, ensuring integration and operation. It supports alignment across the team, the Legal Division, and with external stakeholders, including governments and elected officials.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and facilitate team meetings.
  • Track and manage action items.
  • Coordinate calendars to support departmental priorities.
  • Support budgeting and reporting activities.
  • Prepare and process Director expense reports.
  • Draft and manage correspondence and other documents.
  • Contribute to the preparation of meeting materials.
  • Support the smooth flow of information across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide day-to-day support for the Health Policy & Governmental Affairs department, including managing the Director’s calendar, scheduling meetings, organizing departmental activities, and maintaining filing systems.
  • Support department budget development, tracking, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate departmental reporting, training, onboarding, and corporate/divisional deliverables by tracking deadlines, compiling inputs, and maintaining documentation.
  • Work with internal leads to support alignment of priorities, timelines, and deliverables across shared departmental files.
  • Draft, format, and manage correspondence, briefing materials, and meeting documents.
  • Track action items and follow-ups from meetings and stakeholder engagements.
  • Provide reliable support to enable timely internal and external communications.

Requirements

  • Minimum three to five years of relevant work experience, preferably within a health care, government, or related policy or regulatory environment.
  • Strong ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with senior-level officials, external stakeholders, and cross-functional internal teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage multiple activities, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy and quality in documentation, reporting, and deliverables.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and issues management skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.

  • $56,900 - $66,500
