About the Role

Provides exceptional customer service to new and established financial institution clients, including cross-selling of products and services and cash receipt and payment services.

Responsibilities

  • Provides a broad range of consumer services to clients of the branch, including accepting deposits, cashing checks, accepting utility bill payments, selling Cashiers checks, Money Orders, Certified Checks, accepting loan payments, safe deposit box rent, and other related payments.
  • Processes night deposits and mail deposits.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all company consumer products and services.
  • Adheres to operational controls including legal, corporate and regulatory procedures.
  • Maintains an awareness of new business opportunities with clients and refers clients to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintains an approved level of cash and turns in excess and mutilated cash.
  • Prepares daily settlement and proof of cash transactions.
  • Balances cash drawer accurately and efficiently on a daily basis.
  • Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Maintains an acceptable Teller Standard Score by achieving referral goals and maintaining an acceptable balancing record.
  • Prepares reports relating to the function, e.g. currency transaction, BSA reports.
  • Prepares and scans all teller work per guidelines.
  • Greets clients and visitors in a pleasant and courteous manner.
  • Answers general questions and provides general information on company products and services.
  • Assists with the coordination of inventory and maintains public areas.
  • Provides safe deposit box services to clients.
  • Provides support in non-paying and receiving activities, e.g. new accounts, loans.
  • Balances and/or services ATM machines.
  • Performs vault duties as assigned, including ordering cash, maintaining vault book and managing target cash levels.
  • Verifies and wraps coin for vault cash control purposes.
  • Conforms to General Performance Expectations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with an emphasis in a business curriculum
  • Up to one year of experience in a customer service position
  • Proficient analytical and mathematic skills
  • Proficient communication, interpersonal and sales skills
  • Proficient eye-hand coordination
  • A comprehensive knowledge of operating policies and procedures which impact consumer services
  • A thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of company consumer products and services
  • Basis computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar and math skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs of coin
  • Must be able to support multiple branch locations as needed
