About the Role
Performance Contracting Group (PCG) is seeking an experienced Joinery Foreman for its West Coast Marine operations based in San Francisco, CA. This role is responsible for on-site coordination, crew management, safety, performance, and quality control.
Responsibilities
- On-site coordination with customers and crew to safely and productively install joinery scopes.
- Actively recruit and train field team members.
- Overall responsibility for crew safety, performance, productivity, and work quality for assigned projects.
- Collaborate with superintendent and project manager to coordinate project startup, execution, and close out.
- Use look-ahead schedules, manpower forecasts, and project specifications to provide optimum scheduling of material, manpower, and crew mix.
- Systematically direct and assign crew field activities to achieve maximum productivity while maintaining PCG standards of quality, performance, and workplace safety.
- Create and maintain positive relationships with all trades, vendors, co-workers, and customers to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
- Convey a professional and positive attitude as the on-site representative of branch and corporation.
- Use available technology to perform job tasks efficiently.
- Ability to perform all job duties and associated work functions in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- On-the-job training offered.
- This position is safety-sensitive.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of shipbuilding and joinery work experience.
- Strong understanding of joinery systems on Commercial, MSC, and US Navy vessels.
- Shipbuilding experience in New Construction and/or Repair/Modernization.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a Foreman/Supervisor role.
- Willing to travel and/or relocate for projects.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Proficient in reading shop drawings.
- Managed a crew size of 20+ craftsmen.
- Proficient in quality control.
- Physically able to perform assigned tasks.
