About the Role

Performance Contracting Group (PCG) is seeking an experienced Joinery Foreman for its West Coast Marine operations based in San Francisco, CA. This role is responsible for on-site coordination, crew management, safety, performance, and quality control.

Responsibilities

  • On-site coordination with customers and crew to safely and productively install joinery scopes.
  • Actively recruit and train field team members.
  • Overall responsibility for crew safety, performance, productivity, and work quality for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with superintendent and project manager to coordinate project startup, execution, and close out.
  • Use look-ahead schedules, manpower forecasts, and project specifications to provide optimum scheduling of material, manpower, and crew mix.
  • Systematically direct and assign crew field activities to achieve maximum productivity while maintaining PCG standards of quality, performance, and workplace safety.
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with all trades, vendors, co-workers, and customers to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Convey a professional and positive attitude as the on-site representative of branch and corporation.
  • Use available technology to perform job tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to perform all job duties and associated work functions in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • On-the-job training offered.
  • This position is safety-sensitive.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of shipbuilding and joinery work experience.
  • Strong understanding of joinery systems on Commercial, MSC, and US Navy vessels.
  • Shipbuilding experience in New Construction and/or Repair/Modernization.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a Foreman/Supervisor role.
  • Willing to travel and/or relocate for projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proficient in reading shop drawings.
  • Managed a crew size of 20+ craftsmen.
  • Proficient in quality control.
  • Physically able to perform assigned tasks.
