About the Role

Stone King is seeking a Senior Knowledge and Information Specialist to shape and enhance knowledge and information services. This role involves delivering high-quality knowledge, information, and insight, identifying service gaps, and developing innovative solutions to support Knowledge Management ambitions. You will collaborate with various teams to advance the firm's Knowledge Management strategy and directly support legal teams, improving information access and client outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage systems for current awareness updates across the firm, including legal, topic, and client-related information, and support effective knowledge sharing.
  • Manage legal information resources and budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient tool utilization.
  • Design and deliver research skills training, particularly for junior lawyers, covering general research, tool-specific training, and onboarding.
  • Promote accurate legal research and critical thinking, with a focus on generative AI.
  • Contribute to the Knowledge Management strategy and process improvement initiatives, strengthening knowledge-sharing and KM practices.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to deliver targeted research that enhances understanding of clients and their sectors.
  • Deliver high-quality knowledge, information, and insight across the firm.
  • Identify and address current service gaps.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for Knowledge Management.

Requirements

  • Experience managing research and information resources and budgets.
  • Practical experience managing processes for current awareness, horizon scanning, and information dissemination.
  • Strong research skills and curiosity about emerging AI-enabled research technologies.
  • Experience in knowledge management within a law firm or professional services environment, or knowledge mobilization within a research-driven environment.
  • Experience delivering legal or business research support.
  • Experience designing and delivering training to a professional audience.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, prioritizing workload and delivering consistent, high-quality outputs.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to explain complex information and knowledge concepts to colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
  • Works collaboratively, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach and a desire to help others adopt effective knowledge-sharing practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, combined with the ability to see the wider strategic context and understand how effective knowledge management supports client service and the firm’s broader goals around social impact.
  • Ability to influence and encourage adoption of new tools, processes and ways of working.
  • Experience of implementing document automation projects.
  • Understanding data-driven approaches to knowledge management.
  • Experience of building agentic workflows or other processes using AI and other technologies.
