About the Role
Join a leading Canadian institutional investor to impact global trade activities and deliver value to over 20 million contributors. This role focuses on capital markets technology within a high-ownership, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with trading, operations, and technology teams to build cross-asset solutions
- Design and develop enterprise applications including server-side, GUI, and custom solutions
- Architect solutions aligned with AWS Cloud strategy
- Maintain and enhance trading applications
- Perform unit and integration testing
- Prepare technical design documentation
- Manage deliverables to ensure scalable and predictable solutions
- Provide system demos, walkthroughs, and knowledge transfer
- Deliver responsive business assistance while maintaining enterprise-grade quality
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong C++ expertise with proven debugging skills
- Capital markets experience with deep understanding of the trade lifecycle
- Python proficiency in a financial context
- SQL expertise including joins, aggregations, indexing, and optimization
- Lead-level application design and architecture experience
- AWS Cloud development experience
- Experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, IaC, and automated deployments
- Knowledge of clean code, design patterns, and event-driven architecture
- FIX protocol experience is strongly preferred
