About the Role
Join Alstom as a Guideway Technician in New York, where you will maintain and troubleshoot assets on the AirTrain guideway, contributing to smart innovations for mobility challenges.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair the guideway structure, including concrete piers, bearings, superstructure, expansion joints, and drainage systems.
- Perform concrete repairs such as removal and replacement, crack repair, vegetation control, and expansion joint work.
- Conduct confined space cleaning and repair work.
- Perform ice and snow clearance operations.
- Carry out work in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures.
- Participate in the maintenance of other assets.
- Report activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management system (Maximo).
- Adhere to Company procedures, particularly regarding Quality and Health & Safety.
- Read reports and manuals as required.
- Report accidents and incidents.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
- Six months of bridge construction experience preferred.
- Six months of experience as a Track Technician preferred.
- One year of concrete and drainage (PVC) repairs experience.
Skills
- High school diploma/GED.
- Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards.
- Ability to work at heights, outdoors, and at night; possible weekend and holiday work required.
- Ability to plan and organize daily workload.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changes in work schedules.
- Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle and possess a valid New York State driver's license.
- Knowledge of Rail/Vehicle environment preferred.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to carry tools, equipment, and garbage for up to 10 minutes.
- Ability to walk and stand for a minimum of 6 hours.
- Comfortable working with lifts.
