About the Role
The Really Great Teacher Company is seeking a passionate South African ESL teacher to provide one-on-one conversational and assessment-based English lessons to adult Japanese students in a structured, fully remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver one-on-one 25-minute conversational and assessment-based English lessons
- Teach adult Japanese learners across all proficiency levels
- Provide brief, encouraging messages for student reports
- Manage assigned shifts and adapt to schedule changes
- Optionally cover classes for absent teachers
Requirements
- 3-year National Diploma
- Completed, accredited 120-hour TEFL certificate or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of ESL teaching experience
- Successful completion of a demo lesson
- Computer with minimum 2GHz / 4 CPU and 8GB RAM
- Fibre internet connection with LAN cable (minimum 20 Mbps upload/download)
- Backup power solution for outages
- Webcam and noise-cancelling headset
- Quiet, private, well-lit teaching space with a neutral background
