About the Role

Summerhill Market is a boutique grocer known for scratch-made prepared foods, freshly baked treats, and on-trend ingredients. They are seeking dependable, hard-working individuals to join their Commissary Kitchen team in a fast-paced food production environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks
• Wash, peel, chop, and portion ingredients
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen
• Wash dishes, utensils, equipment, and food preparation tools
• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating products
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Support cooks and production staff with daily kitchen needs
• Help with packaging, labeling, and preparing products for distribution

Requirements

• Previous kitchen, food service, or production experience is an asset
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety standards
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

Skills

• Food Handler Certification is an asset
