About the Role
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with an environmental focus to contribute to significant construction projects in the UK and worldwide. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, providing specialist consultancy input across various sectors and developing ground engineering design solutions for complex challenges.
Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed ground engineering analysis.
- Lead site investigations and risk assessments.
- Develop ground engineering design solutions for complex challenges.
- Manage and mentor junior staff.
- Undertake detailed technical reviews of reports.
- Build client relationships both externally and internally.
Requirements
- Significant demonstrable relevant experience (e.g., a minimum of 8 years in consultancy).
- Extensive experience in a broad range of ground engineering work.
- Extensive experience of scoping, conducting, and interpreting site investigations for a wide variety of schemes.
- Experience with large/tall buildings in complex urban environments and masterplanning.
- Demonstrable experience within the data centre and energy sectors.
- Temporary works experience.
- Broad understanding of engineering geology.
- Proven working knowledge of guidance including BS 5930/Eurocode 7, BS10175, CIRIA 552, 665, 733 & 758, BS8485, BRE-SD1, LCRM and WM3.
- Ability to use ground engineering software relevant to the area of expertise.
- Ability to manage and develop more junior members of the team.
- Ability to relate to more senior ground engineering staff and other Cundall engineering disciplines in a supportive and collaborative manner.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience of using initiative and negotiating skills to overcome challenges.
