About the Role

The Project Manager will strengthen the delivery of two ARR carbon projects in Kenya and the Philippines, acting as the central coordination point between in-country teams, implementation partners, and HQ functions. This role drives high-quality project delivery, operational and risk management, cross-functional collaboration, and timely challenge resolution. It also contributes to strengthening project management approaches across the wider portfolio through knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the HQ Project Manager for two ARR carbon projects in Kenya and the Philippines
  • Support in-country Project Managers and implementation partners to ensure effective project planning and high-quality implementation
  • Track and manage project milestones, budgets, timelines, deliverables, and documentation
  • Ensure strong project governance, coordination, and operational management
  • Provide trainings and coaching in Project Management capabilities to In-Country Project Managers and associated teams
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with in-country partners, field teams, and key stakeholders
  • Coordinate regular communication, follow-up, and alignment between partners and internal teams
  • Support management of issues, escalations, and operational challenges
  • Work collaboratively across commercial, technical, finance, and delivery teams
  • Support project budgeting, forecasting, financial tracking, and administrative processes
  • Coordinate invoices, contracts, approvals, and internal reporting requirements
  • Support, and when appropriate lead, on the delivery of accurate, timely, and high-quality internal and external reporting
  • Ensure project data, documentation, and reporting are maintained accurately and consistently
  • Identify operational and implementation risks early and support proactive mitigation measures
  • Work collaboratively with partners and internal teams to troubleshoot challenges and identify practical solutions
  • Support contingency planning and adaptive project delivery
  • Help ensure projects remain on track against delivery objectives and timelines
  • Support the wider project portfolio, helping strengthen consistency and quality of project management approaches
  • Facilitate sharing of learnings, best practices, and operational improvements across projects and teams
  • Support development and continuous improvement of project management systems, tools, reporting, and ways of working
  • Provide flexible support across projects or teams during periods of increased operational need or capacity gaps

Requirements

  • Strong large scale project management experience, ideally within NBS Carbon Projects, forestry, food security, conservation, or international development
  • Experience managing or supporting complex field-based project delivery in emerging markets, working cross culturally
  • Experience working with implementation partners, NGOs, community-based organisations, or field delivery teams
  • Experience managing budgets, reporting processes, operational tracking, and project administration
  • Understanding of ARR projects and/or nature-based carbon project delivery, including at a least basic understanding of CCB/VCS requirements
  • Experience working in emerging markets in NBS Carbon Projects and across different cultural and operational contexts is highly desirable

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with a willingness to work hard and take initiative to ensure successful project delivery
  • Collaborative and adaptable, able to work effectively both autonomously and across cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and operational judgement skills, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder and partner environments
