About the Role

WEHI is transforming how its professional services teams empower scientists for world-leading medical research. This role focuses on optimizing and continuously improving digital communications platforms to support scientific and commercial priorities, enhancing engagement with various communities, and strengthening external engagement and internal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Optimise and continuously improve WEHI’s digital communications platforms.
  • Support the delivery of scalable, user-centred digital solutions.
  • Manage and enhance WEHI's digital presence.
  • Lead the optimisation of websites, social media channels, search performance, and analytics.
  • Deliver consistent, accessible, and high-performing digital experiences.
  • Provide expert advice on digital strategy.
  • Contribute to social media content creation.
  • Support digital strategy implementation.
  • Contribute to governance, risk management, and service optimisation.
  • Manage at least one direct report.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in digital, information technology, communications, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated experience in social media content creation, including video and photography.
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging social media trends and content formats.
  • Experience managing corporate digital channels or online platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in analytics, SEO, and web performance optimisation.
  • Strong understanding of service design, user experience (UX) principles, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Experience engaging with cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of web content management systems (e.g. WordPress, Sitecore, Drupal, or similar), internal intranet and SharePoint.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, digital governance, and risk management practices.
  • Collaborative approach with confident communication and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate with and advise people at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and share knowledge.
  • Comfortable in a fast-evolving digital environment.
  • Understands internal and external user needs and translates them into effective digital experiences.
  • Solution orientated and able to find practical ways to improve efficiency and user engagement.
  • Accountable and willing to take ownership of outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under limited guidance and to navigate complexity in a changing environment.

  • $108,119 - $117,039
