About the Role

Seasonal Retail Associates will report to the Retail Manager and are responsible for servicing all TIFF Retail Spaces, including the TIFF Shop, Pop-up, and The Market, to its customers.

Responsibilities

  • Merchandise handling, restocking, organizing, folding, receiving, inventory counting and pricing
  • Maintain cleanliness and an appealing aesthetic of TIFF Shop
  • Greet, observe, actively listen to and engage with customers
  • Monitor customer traffic to uphold safety and accessibility
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and interact with customers around the Shop to meet their needs and drive sales
  • Perform accurate transactions on POS system
  • Open and closing duties as assigned
  • Other duties as required - based on business needs

Requirements

  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience in retail and/or customer service position
  • Previous cash handling experience
  • Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Must be available to work from September 10 - September 20, 2026 of the entire Toronto International Film Festival
  • May be required to stand for an 8-hour shift
  • Some physical activity required including lifting items up to 35 lbs
  • Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada at this time
  • Visa must allow you to complete the full contract

Skills

  • Knowledge of Givex POS and/or Shopify is an asset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Takes direction well
  • Excellent customer service - able to hold a conversation
  • Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in film, non-profits, arts and culture is considered an asset
