About the Role

This partner-facing engineering role involves working directly with Wayve's OEM partners to build necessary solutions and resolve technical issues. You will focus on developing partner-facing product features, system integrations, improving observability and reliability, and addressing complex production issues. The role requires significant autonomy, often involving independent resolution of partner issues during UK off-hours.

Responsibilities

  • Build software at the interface of OEM and Wayve systems APIs, cross-cloud integrations, and user-interfaces.
  • Work directly with OEM partners to understand their needs and build impactful solutions.
  • Triage and resolve technical issues with Portal, whether reported by customers or detected through internal monitoring.
  • Build monitoring and alerting tooling to proactively detect, triage, and resolve integration issues before they impact customers.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rotation as part of a follow-the-sun 24/7 coverage model.
  • Operate autonomously during UK off-hours, acting as the primary technical point of contact for Nissan for the Portal.
  • Manage complex issues independently with limited team overlap.

Requirements

  • Customer-facing technical experience (solutions engineering, technical support, integration engineering, or similar).
  • Backend engineering experience (Java and Python services).
  • Experience participating in on-call or support rotation, or supporting a production system.
  • Operational Cloud Infrastructure experience (Azure preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable working directly with external enterprise partners.
  • Product-minded approach to problem-solving.
  • High autonomy and ownership, comfortable in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
  • Motivated by a startup within a scale-up environment.
  • Japanese and English fluency (essential for the Japan role).
