About the Role

Bring the world to a person who is deafblind by supporting their communication and day-to-day living, enabling them to live independently. Join Sensity to learn new skills and experience personal growth and fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Support communication and day-to-day living for individuals with dual sensory impairment.
• Support individuals in their home and community environments.
• Use communication techniques to relay information.
• Empower individuals to participate in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and house cleaning.
• Provide personal care as required, such as lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
• Assist with developing and supporting individual goals and objectives.
• Assist with program development.
• Ensure documentation and records are complete.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid driver's license Class G.
• Access to a reliable vehicle.
• A clean current driver's abstract.
• Ability to obtain automobile insurance with a minimum liability of $2 million.
• Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand motion, possess good manual dexterity, and moderate stooping, bending, and lifting.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs to 50 lbs on an occasional basis.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors.

Skills

• Communication in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
• Excellent communication skills for both verbal and written English.

Salary/Compensations

• Starting at $23.49/hour
