About the Role

The Front Desk Agent will provide luxury service, including attentiveness, anticipation, courteousness, and efficiency, to all guests while at the Front Desk of The Loren Hotel Austin and at the Concierge Desk at The Loren Hotel Austin Residences.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome all guests within acceptable distance, showing genuine interest, demonstrating anticipatory service, and closing interactions appropriately.
• Maintain proper use of computer and telephone systems, ensuring hotel standards are met.
• Courteously answer guest inquiries about hotel services and facilities.
• Provide concierge support to Residences, including answering phone inquiries and accepting mail.
• Be aware of all rates, packages, and special promotions.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with employees and guests.
• Maintain a warm, friendly, and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Complete check-in and check-out procedures in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner.
• Perform and complete all tasks and duties on the shift checklist in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as requested by leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous hotel experience in a guest-facing position, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
• 1+ year of previous guest service experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule is required.
• High school graduate level mathematical aptitude.
• Knowledge of standard cash handling procedures and computerized cash register systems.
• Experience in dealing directly with the public and acquired general knowledge of basic customer service skills.
• Fluent in oral and written English.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Ability to work on more than one task at a time.
• Ability to use tact and understanding when dealing with customer service problems, including stressful situations.
• Highly organized and able to pay attention to minute written and verbal details.
• 90% of shift is standing.
• Bending/kneeling required while filing.
• Must be able to reach all areas of the hotel to assist clients.
• Occasional carrying and lifting of files and office items up to 25 lbs.
• 95% indoor office environment.
