About the Role

Total Group of Companies is seeking 6-10 Safety Advisors in the Toronto and Ottawa areas to support upcoming restoration projects. These roles involve working closely with site teams to maintain a safe, compliant, and organized work environment, providing professional safety oversight, guidance, and support to workers and site leadership in fast-paced industrial or construction settings.

Responsibilities

• Support site personnel in working safely and in compliance with OHS requirements
• Conduct hazard identification, assessment, and control
• Set up, inspect, and maintain safety equipment and PPE
• Monitor work activities and exercise stop-work authority when required
• Report hazards, near misses, incidents, and injuries in a timely manner
• Deliver safety orientations and task-specific training
• Assist with air monitoring, confined space monitoring, respiratory protection requirements, and rescue plan support as required by project scope
• Assist with general site housekeeping and safety oversight

Requirements

• Authorized to work in Canada and 19 years of age or older
• Valid driver’s license with minimum 3 years’ driving experience and acceptable abstract
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 75lbs
• Willing and able to travel and work outdoors in varying conditions
• Able to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing
• Previous experience in a safety role
• Strong working knowledge of OH&S legislation and specialized PPE

Skills

• Safety-driven with a strong attention to detail
• Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and basic computer skills
• Willingness to learn and follow established procedures
• Experience surrounding hazardous materials, or restoration site safety considered an asset
