About the Role
The BRG Corporate Finance practice provides strategic, operational, and financial advice to private equity firms, management teams, boards of directors, investors, hedge funds, and other lenders or companies in transition. We focus on proactive value creation across the P&L, helping clients accelerate performance, increase margins, and build the operational foundation for growth and premium exits.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to client engagements focused on cost reduction, EBITDA improvement, SG&A optimization, and operational transformation.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify performance gaps, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to working sessions with COO/CFO and other executives, private equity sponsors, and other stakeholders.
- Build financial models, scenario analysis, and KPI reporting to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Develop clear, actionable recommendations and help implement process improvements across finance and operations.
- Prepare high-quality presentations, analyses, and executive-ready deliverables.
- Manage workstreams and junior team members, ensuring quality execution and timely delivery.
- Embrace the use of emerging technologies and AI-enabled tools to improve workflows, enhance analysis, and support innovative client solutions.
- Contribute to practice development efforts, including recruiting, training, client pitches, and thought leadership initiatives.
Requirements
- 3-8 years of experience in management consulting, operational improvement, corporate strategy, or a related field.
- Prior experience in strategy & operations consulting, banking, corporate strategy, private equity portfolio operations or private equity backed portfolio company.
- Exposure to PE-backed companies or private credit environments is a plus.
- Experience in restructuring or turnaround contexts (e.g., A&M, AlixPartners, FTI) doing performance improvement work is a plus.
- Sector experience in manufacturing, business services, consumer products, industrials, healthcare, or logistics and supply chain preferred but not required.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed based on project requirements.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Skills
- Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, including advanced Excel financial modeling.
- Ability to work with large, complex operational and financial datasets and distill them into actionable insights.
- Solid understanding of operational drivers across manufacturing, logistics, services, or consumer businesses.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present clearly to senior stakeholders.
- High energy, intellectual curiosity, and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving client environments.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate data-analysis, research, and data visualization.
