About the Role

As a Co-op student in the Canadian Country Tax Centre, you will collaborate with business partners across all Canadian Johnson & Johnson operating companies, gaining exposure to income tax, sales tax, and withholding tax processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of annual T2 corporate income tax returns, T106 information returns, and non-resident withholding tax returns.
  • Prepare monthly sales tax returns for GST/HST, QST, and PST.
  • Maintain non-resident payments and ensure required remittances are made.
  • Analyze tax balance sheet accounts and prepare quarterly reconciliations.
  • Implement system changes for sales tax initiatives, including tax code updates and new product introductions.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for quarter-end and month-end close, including monthly clearing journal entries.
  • Assist with the collection of accounting records and preparation of analysis for audit requests.
  • Document role activities to ensure smooth transitions for future co-ops.
  • Complete ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Completion of undergraduate freshman year at an accredited university.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related fields.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must be in the final two years of a bachelor’s degree in a co-op program.
  • Interest in working towards a professional accounting designation.
  • Ability to work full-time (37.5 hours per week) from August 2026 to April 2027.

Experience Level

  • Preferably completed at least one co-op term with relevant experience in Tax/Accounting.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical devices industry is an asset.

Salary/Compensations

  • Second Year: $22.00/hr
  • Third Year: $23.50/hr
  • Fourth Year: $24.50/hr
  • Master’s degree: $27.00/hr
