About the Role
The Concerts Administrator is responsible for NLMP processing, matching, and identification for domestic Concert performances and foreign concert claims. This includes researching, analyzing, logging, and identifying data, and distributing Concert royalties to both International and SOCAN Members accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Verify data received (venue, proof, concert date, etc.) for completeness and accuracy.
- Process incoming NLMPs from members and foreign societies via web portal, cases, and inboxes.
- Create concert headers for the Licensing department to pursue license fees.
- Research, analyze, and identify domestic performances including festivals and online concerts.
- Merge unidentified works with existing payable/registered works.
- Research set lists from the Internet to process performances with no programming.
- Research and identify unmatched works to payable works on SOCAN databases.
- Review and verify the accuracy of matched performances for accurate payments.
- Prepare concert acts for calculation for distribution.
- Assist with the integration of concert headers from Entandem.
- Assist in ensuring departmental quarterly processing accuracy is achieved.
- Research and process applicable concert-related adjustments.
- Liaise with other SOCAN departments/user groups.
- Communicate with outside stakeholders such as Members or Foreign Societies.
- Proactively advise Team Lead of potential processing and efficiency improvements.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Computer literacy required: working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Epicor, and DAP.
- Excellent research skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of existing SOCAN workflow.
- Strong aptitude for figures.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and ability to multi-task.
- Bilingual in French and English is a strong asset, but is not required.
