About the Role
This role offers an opportunity for a Python Software Engineer to join the Risk, Finance & Compliance technology function. You will operate with high autonomy, taking end-to-end ownership of initiatives from design to deployment while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable technology solutions that enable informed business decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance in-house systems and third-party integrations.
- Collaborate with Risk and Finance teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide technical support to Risk, Finance, and Front Office users regarding internal Python libraries, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise data.
- Contribute to architectural design and propose scalable improvements to the technology platform.
- Design and implement data visualizations for internal dashboards and reporting tools.
- Perform data cleansing, enrichment, and transformation using scalable tools.
- Develop and maintain data integration services and query interfaces.
- Participate in technology projects supporting key business initiatives.
Requirements
- Approximately five years of experience.
- Current experience in a commodities trading environment.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience building APIs using Python frameworks, preferably FastAPI.
- Familiarity with AWS services including Lambda, Step Functions, Cognito, ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, and CDK.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of parallel and distributed data processing concepts.
- Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently.
