About the Role
Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Personal Caregiver to deliver exceptional care and support to clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive homemaking services, including cleaning, cooking, laundry, and general household management.
- Offer companionship and accompany clients to community activities and events.
- Administer personal care services in accordance with care plan directives.
- Ensure the emotional, spiritual, and physical comfort and safety of clients to the highest possible standard.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, tailored to meet their specific needs.
- Perform specialized procedures for clients where training has been provided while demonstrating current competency.
- Observe and document client conditions in line with company standards; promptly report any unusual events or changes in client condition to the Supervisor or Office.
- Implement and adhere to infection prevention practices.
Requirements
- Completion of formal, accredited PSW training program and/or relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of caregiving principles and customer service.
- Able to communicate in spoken and written English; French proficiency is an asset.
- Provide high-quality care services to clients with current knowledge of community care practices.
- Physically assist clients with movement and/or repositioning; able to lift 23 kgs., squat, bend, stand and reach.
- Reliable mode of transportation; driver's license and automobile are an asset.
- Able to produce a clear Criminal background check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Dependent upon Provincial government regulations and position, new hires may be required to provide proof of vaccination against illnesses such as COVID-19, Hepatitis, Seasonal Flu etc.
- Medical exemptions or any based upon Human Rights Code criteria will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
