About the Role

We are seeking a proactive leader to champion and own the development and implementation of innovative technology and operational workflows for NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic live production, enjoys collaboration, and wants to make a positive impact using leading-edge technology.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and operate live and/or recorded television productions in a sports environment using the Ross Overdrive Automated Production Control system.
  • Code and execute live pre and post-game shows and various taped productions using production automation.
  • Build master rundown patterns for all television broadcasts.
  • Collaborate closely with editorial and production personnel from concept to final production.
  • Shape the creative appearance of broadcasts using video, audio, and graphics effects.
  • Provide direction and timing cues to talent and other technicians.
  • Operate automated graphics, audio, camera control, and clip playback servers.
  • Ensure execution aligns with standard operating procedures and best workflows.
  • Maintain the ultimate technical quality of production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
  • Submit End of Show reports.
  • Participate in feedback sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3+) years of relevant experience in medium to large market local news TD/Directing.
  • Expertise in Ross Overdrive Production Automation or similar systems.
  • Must be willing to work onsite at the production center in San Francisco, CA.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours as needed.
  • Must be able to work any shift in a 24x7 schedule, including weekends and holidays, with flexibility for schedule changes and short notice.
