About the Role
Manage the day-to-day bookkeeping requirements of SME clients, including bank reconciliations, sales and purchase ledger management, invoice processing, credit control, VAT return preparation and submission, and maintaining accurate accounting records. Work closely with clients to ensure compliance, improve financial processes, and provide timely and reliable financial information.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping requirements of SME clients
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Manage sales and purchase ledgers
- Process invoices
- Handle credit control
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Maintain accurate accounting records
- Ensure client compliance
- Improve financial processes
- Provide timely and reliable financial information
- Handle customer invoicing and sales ledger management
- Provide credit control and debtor reporting to directors
- Manage supplier invoices and purchase ledger
- Draft payment runs for approval
- Perform supplier reconciliations
- Handle bank postings and reconciliations
- Manage and reconcile expenses and credit cards
- Process VAT returns
- Handle payroll and pension administration (possibly)
- Post month-end journals including depreciation, accruals, and prepayments
Requirements
- Experienced Finance Manager with a passion for supporting SMEs
- Ideally self-employed
- At least 2 days of availability per week
- Minimum of 2 years of UK-based experience as a Finance Manager required
- Cannot offer sponsorship to overseas workers
