About the Role
We are seeking a House Manager & Family Assistant to help maintain household organization, support healthy eating through meal preparation, and manage various household tasks. This role requires initiative, trustworthiness, and a passion for creating a smoothly running home environment.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain household organization systems.
- Perform daily resets and prepare the home for cleaners.
- Conduct light tidying, including dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas.
- Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, and bedding.
- Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs.
- Provide indoor plant care.
- Undertake organizational projects for areas like gear, pantry, garage, laundry room, and linen closet.
- Perform occasional deep cleaning tasks such as the fridge, oven, and baseboards.
- Refresh garage, mudroom, and entry areas.
- Collaborate on menu planning.
- Prep and cook healthy dinners 3-4 nights per week.
- Prepare and wash fresh fruit and healthy snacks.
- Prepare school lunches.
- Perform grocery shopping.
- Maintain kitchen cleanup and maintenance.
- Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
- Manage running household supply lists.
- Handle household orders and subscriptions.
- Manage returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping.
- Handle mail and package sorting and breakdown.
- Wash, fold, and organize laundry.
- Perform special garment care as needed.
- Manage linen rotation.
- Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry area.
- Provide occasional pick-ups/drop-offs.
- Schedule pet grooming and vet appointments.
- Oversee cleaners, contractors, and landscapers as needed.
- Manage seasonal property maintenance.
- Manage outdoor spaces.
- Maintain awareness of the family calendar and household schedules.
- Track receipts and budgets for house manager expenses.
- Potentially assist with administrative filing and organizing.
