About the Role

The Manager of Strategic Planning will lead enterprise-wide initiatives, collaborate with business lines for strategy development, conduct market research, and build business cases. This role supports the Enterprise Strategy and line of business strategies, contributing to growth and business objectives. The Manager will be a key member of the Green Shield Management team, reporting to the Director, Strategic Planning & Execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy development and planning of the Enterprise Strategy 5-year strategic plan and prepare presentations to Executive Leadership teams, CEO and the Board.
  • Support the development and evolution of our enterprise strategy by working with various business units, product, finance, sales and operational teams.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders in crafting thoughtful and multi-dimensional strategies for engaging and collaborating with external partners, as well as execution of partner initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration throughout the organization by sharing successful practices, seeking opportunities to establish strategic connections, and maintaining consistency in overarching processes and systems.
  • Lead the development of various components of the Health & Admin strategy, including implementation of innovative public health strategies, provider strategy and other areas.
  • Identify and evaluate new technological opportunities to enhance health initiatives in the context of payer provider.
  • Support the various business units in delivering strategic initiatives by working with relevant internal stakeholders, creating and formulating strategy from ideation to execution.
  • Conduct market and industry level research in support of the Enterprise and line of business strategies.
  • Manage and synthesize environmental scans, customer needs, technology trends, competitive threats, and expansion opportunities to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Develop reports and presentations to help facilitate strategic discussions across the enterprise.
  • Demonstrate discovery mindset and forge strong relationships across and beyond the organization.
  • Establish credibility and maintain strong relationships with key business partners.
  • Demonstrate leadership, management, influence, agility, and action orientation to achieve objectives.
  • Participate in the delivery of key presentations to Leadership, including the SLT and the Board of Directors, related to the 5 year Corporate Plan, assessment of business cases, and other topical leadership/executive deep dives.
  • Demonstrate tenacity and accountability for project/program/strategic initiative leadership and success.

Requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration or equivalent with a focus on Strategy.
  • 6-8 years of experience in strategy-related roles in Corporate Strategy, Consulting or Health/Health tech industry.
  • Senior-level experience preparing and presenting Board and Executive leadership materials and presentations.
  • Collaborate with other leaders, including executives, to manage business performance and strategic direction.
  • Ability to provide strategic and creative solutions through data and insights, with a deep understanding of how to link strategy to financial plans and analysis.
  • Ability to communicate and articulate complex ideas and present to senior leaders.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess opportunities for growth.
  • Results-driven, motivated by a sense of performance excellence, and ability to challenge the status quo.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills /presentation skills for preparation of Board and Executive materials.
  • Understanding of the public health system, public health principles.
  • Corporate Strategy experience.
  • Proficiency in English is required.

Salary/Compensations

  • CAD $94,406.00 - 142,069.00
