About the Role

As a Paramedic, you will provide advanced emergency medical care and transport to critically ill or injured patients in pre-hospital and inter-facility settings. You will rapidly assess scenes, evaluate conditions, and administer life-saving interventions, while safely operating emergency vehicles and documenting care. To be successful, you will demonstrate expert clinical skills, exceptional critical thinking under stress, and compassionate communication, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Administers BLS, PALS, ACLS and critical care interventions following the orders and supervision of the attending physician.
  • Performs triage, assessments, interventions and patient education as needed.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records in a timely manner.
  • Promotes patient’s independence by establishing personal rapport and care goals; teaching patients, friends and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support.

Requirements

  • Must successfully complete an approved Critical Care Paramedic course and pass the IBSC CCP-C or the FP-C exam to maintain employment.
  • Must apply for and obtain their Advanced Practice Paramedic Licensure from the Kentucky Board of EMS after obtaining their CCP-C or FP-C.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support - CPR upon hire.
  • Must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 Days.
  • Must obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months.
