About the Role

This role leads the Stakeholder and Communications sub-functions for a major national rail programme, acting as a subject matter expert and strategic partner to develop high-performing teams and ensure best-in-class service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Leads Stakeholder & Communications performance across assigned hubs.
  • Sets strategic direction for the function.
  • Ensures services align with best practice and ISO standards.
  • Acts as a role model and mentor.
  • Provides expert support across hubs.
  • Builds strong client partnerships and exceeds expectations.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for all sub-functions.
  • Champions net-zero goals through proactive carbon management.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering major rail or high-speed programmes, ideally within the design or early set-up stages.
  • Extensive leadership experience with expert knowledge in stakeholder, communications, consents and interface management.
  • Proven delivery of robust strategies on major programmes, with strong commercial and business development capability.
  • Deep sector insight, digital proficiency and strong consultancy skills in complex, uncertain environments.
  • Degree-educated; actively engaged with industry bodies and experienced across client-side and consultancy roles.
