About the Role
DigitalOcean is seeking a Corporate Development Associate passionate about driving impactful growth through M&A, capital markets, and strategic projects. This role supports M&A sourcing and execution efforts within a dynamic team revolutionizing cloud computing and AI.
Responsibilities
- Identify and research potential acquisition targets in line with company strategic goals.
- Assist in developing business cases and financial analyses for potential acquisitions, strategic investments, and new organic initiatives, including scenario modeling for capital allocation decisions.
- Conduct comprehensive industry research and competitive analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Perform financial modeling and valuation analysis for M&A opportunities, including DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
- Assist in due diligence processes, analyzing financial, legal, and operational data.
- Support the preparation of investment memoranda, term sheets, and other deal-related documents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive M&A, capital markets initiatives, and strategic projects.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the deal pipeline and internal M&A target reporting.
- Assist in post-merger integration planning and execution.
- Provide strategic finance support, including financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in investment banking, with a focus on M&A transactions.
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of the software, AI, and broader technology ecosystem is preferred.
- Final candidates will be required to complete a case study analysis during the final rounds.
