About the Role

DigitalOcean is seeking a Corporate Development Associate passionate about driving impactful growth through M&A, capital markets, and strategic projects. This role supports M&A sourcing and execution efforts within a dynamic team revolutionizing cloud computing and AI.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and research potential acquisition targets in line with company strategic goals.
  • Assist in developing business cases and financial analyses for potential acquisitions, strategic investments, and new organic initiatives, including scenario modeling for capital allocation decisions.
  • Conduct comprehensive industry research and competitive analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Perform financial modeling and valuation analysis for M&A opportunities, including DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
  • Assist in due diligence processes, analyzing financial, legal, and operational data.
  • Support the preparation of investment memoranda, term sheets, and other deal-related documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive M&A, capital markets initiatives, and strategic projects.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the deal pipeline and internal M&A target reporting.
  • Assist in post-merger integration planning and execution.
  • Provide strategic finance support, including financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in investment banking, with a focus on M&A transactions.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of the software, AI, and broader technology ecosystem is preferred.
  • Final candidates will be required to complete a case study analysis during the final rounds.
