About the Role
Enhance the safety, reliability, and passenger experience of the JFK AirTrain system by addressing obsolescence challenges and driving innovative solutions. Work collaboratively with forward-thinking teammates on cutting-edge projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement projects tailored to the JFK AirTrain system’s needs.
- Research and evaluate potential projects to identify innovative solutions for the AirTrain system.
- Communicate technical project details to stakeholders to facilitate approvals and secure funding.
- Design detailed drawings, technical specifications, and scopes of work.
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot technical issues and emergencies.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, operations, and maintenance teams for smooth project delivery.
- Guide blue-collar teams through clear procedures, training, and support during project lifecycles.
- Lead installation and commissioning processes for CARP initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all project activities.
- Seek opportunities for professional development and integrate industry best practices.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience or understanding of project engineering or field service engineering, with a focus on electrical systems.
- Knowledge of electrical schematics, technical drawings, and service manuals.
- Familiarity with design drawings, scope of work creation, and project management processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Leadership skills with experience in guiding blue-collar teams or contractors.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting expertise, especially in emergency or time-sensitive scenarios.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software relevant to engineering and project management.
- A proactive approach to learning and staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
