About the Role

Enhance the safety, reliability, and passenger experience of the JFK AirTrain system by addressing obsolescence challenges and driving innovative solutions. Work collaboratively with forward-thinking teammates on cutting-edge projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement projects tailored to the JFK AirTrain system’s needs.
  • Research and evaluate potential projects to identify innovative solutions for the AirTrain system.
  • Communicate technical project details to stakeholders to facilitate approvals and secure funding.
  • Design detailed drawings, technical specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot technical issues and emergencies.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, operations, and maintenance teams for smooth project delivery.
  • Guide blue-collar teams through clear procedures, training, and support during project lifecycles.
  • Lead installation and commissioning processes for CARP initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all project activities.
  • Seek opportunities for professional development and integrate industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience or understanding of project engineering or field service engineering, with a focus on electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics, technical drawings, and service manuals.
  • Familiarity with design drawings, scope of work creation, and project management processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Leadership skills with experience in guiding blue-collar teams or contractors.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting expertise, especially in emergency or time-sensitive scenarios.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software relevant to engineering and project management.
  • A proactive approach to learning and staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
