About the Role

Provides maintenance support to install, maintain, repair, and overhaul HVACR systems and facilities to enhance productivity, quality, and safety. Performs a variety of tasks including installation, modification, repair, fabrication, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, set-up, and commissioning in accordance with SOPs, GMP, and EH&S requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, repair, and overhaul HVACR systems and/or facilities in accordance with established SOPs, GMP guidelines and EH&S policies.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Diagnose faults in electrical and mechanical components, and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Read blueprints, perform brazing/welding, and ensure systems meet safety and energy-efficiency standards.
  • Work on furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation units.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning ducts, changing filters, checking refrigerant levels, and calibrating systems.
  • Perform safe operational checks on equipment and systems.
  • Detect and investigate variance in performance of equipment, utilities, systems and/or facilities.
  • Identify an OEM or spare part by consulting machine manuals.
  • Communicate with supervisor about a purchase prior to initiating a purchase request.
  • Create a work order in CMMS.
  • Follow TEVA purchasing guidelines.
  • Execute qualification and/or validation protocols for equipment installation, commissioning, and/or operation.
  • Start up systems, test for leaks, and verify proper functionality.
  • Complete required compliance documentation, log books, and timesheets.
  • Complete and maintain current training and awareness of related legislated codes, EH&S procedures, SOPs and GMP requirements.
  • Complete ongoing training to respond to technology changes and improve knowledge of facilities, systems, and equipment.
  • Complete ongoing training to maintain licenses/certificates.
  • Complete all assigned training pertaining to SOP’s, EHS, and GMP on the computerized training system on time.
  • Stay abreast of all legislative codes related to job function.
  • Identify, prevent, and proactively correct workplace hazards and conditions.
  • Perform incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, and establish appropriate corrective action.
  • Role model EHS practices to prevent the release of materials/energy, reduce EHS impacts, and ensure adherence to EHS regulatory requirements and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3)+ years mechanical or electro-mechanical experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of tools, equipment, and measuring/calibration/diagnostic devices.
  • Experience with BAS, CMMS, PLC, E-mail, Windows.
  • Experience with cGMP, WHMIS.
  • Requires travel between three sites: 30 Novopharm, Stouffville and Markham sites.

  • 5 years experience in pharmaceutical maintenance (preferred)

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technician or technology diploma (preferred)
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program (e.g., 313A or 313D for refrigeration/AC, 308A for sheet metal, or G1/G2 for gas fitting)
  • HVAC Technician or comparable Certification (an asset)

Salary/Compensations

  • $70,480-$88,100 annually
