About the Role
Join our cross-functional Core Experience team to help neighbors connect with one another by taking ownership of the frontend architecture and technical direction, ensuring scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability of our React-based frontend.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the frontend architecture and technical direction.
- Ensure scalability, performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability of the frontend.
- Participate in the evolution of our React-based frontend, including state management, SSR in Node.js, and build tooling.
- Uphold engineering standards for clean code, testing, performance, accessibility, and security.
- Participate in technical decision-making and ensure alignment with backend, platform, and product architecture.
- Collaboratively deliver outcomes with the cross-functional team: planning, prioritization, predictability, and quality.
- Commit to user value deliveries each sprint and consistently meet those commitments.
- Work closely with Product Management and Design to translate business and user needs into executable technical roadmaps.
- Balance technical debt, platform evolution, and feature delivery in a sustainable way.
Requirements
- 3-7 years of experience building robust, scalable, and performant web applications using React and the modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem.
- Good understanding of HTTP and how web requests work including headers, status codes and how data flows between client and server.
- Hands-on experience with technical integration of advertising platforms, including ad serving, tracking implementation, and tag management.
- Experience with Server-Side Rendering (e.g. Node.js), modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack, Rollup), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven ability to collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, backend engineers, and product managers.
- Strong ownership mindset: you care about outcomes, not just output.
- Excellent English skills for working in our international team; German is a plus.
