About the Role

Gaia Mayfair is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Waiter to lead a section during service, ensuring guests receive professional, warm, and attentive hospitality. The role requires a hands-on leader who can support junior team members, maintain exceptional service standards, and contribute positively to the overall guest journey in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional guest service throughout the dining experience
• Manage and oversee a designated section during service
• Ensure tables are prepared and maintained to the highest standards
• Provide detailed menu and beverage recommendations confidently
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and coordinate effectively with the kitchen and bar teams
• Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns professionally and efficiently
• Support and mentor junior waiters, runners, and commis staff
• Maintain strong knowledge of menu items, allergens, specials, and wine pairings
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and company standards
• Assist management in achieving service excellence and operational efficiency
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Head Waiter or Senior Waiter in a high-end restaurant or luxury hospitality venue
• Strong understanding of fine dining service standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional appearance and presentation
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment
• Passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Good food and wine knowledge; Mediterranean cuisine experience is advantageous
• Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
