About the Role
This role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of HVAC equipment projects into Data Centre environments, ensuring compliance with customer technical specifications, quality standards, and critical commissioning requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage full lifecycle delivery of HVAC equipment projects (e.g. chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, plant systems) into data centre environments
- Lead project execution from handover through engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, installation, commissioning, and final handover
- Ensure strict adherence to data centre standards, specifications, and commissioning protocols
- Maintain detailed project schedules, critical path tracking, and milestone management aligned to client programs
- Own project financial performance including: Revenue tracking and forecasting, Gross Margin (GM%) performance, Cost control and variation management
- Identify and drive margin improvement opportunities
- Ensure timely invoicing and UBR reduction through accurate milestone completion
- Act as primary interface between Customers (Data Centre operators, Tier 1 contractors) and Internal teams (engineering, factory, service, logistics)
- Build strong working relationships with key clients to support repeat business and customer satisfaction (NPS)
- Manage contractor and subcontractor performance on-site
- Full coordination and ownership of the complex and multitier commissioning process
- Oversee technical compliance including: Equipment specifications and submittals, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and witness testing, SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) and commissioning
- Identify project risks early (supply chain, program, technical, commercial) and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with: QA standards, OHS&E requirements, Data centre quality expectations (zero-defect mindset)
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC-related discipline OR Trade background with extensive HVAC project experience
- Proven experience delivering large HVAC equipment projects (chillers, plant systems) into Data Centres or critical environments
- Strong understanding of data centre design principles, redundancy, and mission-critical operations
- Experience with FAT, SAT, and commissioning processes
- Knowledge of HVAC systems for mission-critical environments
- Knowledge of Mechanical and electrical interfaces
- Ability to review technical specifications, drawings, and design documentation
- Experience in project financial management (forecasting, GM, cost control)
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and reporting tools
- Understanding of supply chain and manufacturing lead times
- Strong leadership and accountability mindset
- Ability to operate in high-pressure, program-driven environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Proactive problem solver with continuous improvement focus
