About the Role
The Principal serves as the Services leader and primary point of contact for customer accounts, overseeing cloud transformation programs. You will lead implementation planning, manage end-to-end estimation, and govern delivery across global teams to ensure project success and business value realization within the Australia-Japan market.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of cloud transformation programs in the Australia/Japan market.
- Own end-to-end implementation planning, including delivery roadmaps, resource models, and milestone frameworks.
- Design and govern Global Delivery Model structures, coordinating onshore, nearshore, and offshore teams.
- Establish governance, communication, and escalation frameworks for distributed delivery teams.
- Coordinate performance testing, cutovers, and handovers to customer success.
- Monitor program progress, identify risks, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Structure and govern Fixed Price engagements, managing scope, change control, and margins.
- Lead outcome-based engagement models with measurable success criteria.
- Act as a trusted delivery partner to customer stakeholders and SI partners.
- Provide strategic input on leveraging products within local P&C insurance regulatory frameworks.
- Advocate for customer needs internally with Product, Cloud Ops, and Support teams.
- Support sales teams by contributing to cloud transformation proposals and services estimates.
- Develop implementation estimates that reflect realistic scope, complexity, and risk.
- Participate in early customer conversations to shape engagement plans.
- Develop Statements of Work and define scope for Fixed Price structures.
- Identify account expansion opportunities through delivery performance.
- Track budgets, forecast delivery costs, and manage commercial risk.
- Ensure smooth transition from implementation to BAU support.
Requirements
- Experience in enterprise software delivery, consulting, or transformation within a Global System Integrator or SaaS-based product company.
- Experience in a customer-facing delivery leadership role with accountability for program outcomes.
- Hands-on experience delivering large-scale cloud or SaaS implementations using a Global Delivery Model.
- Understanding of operational disciplines for distributed delivery, including team integration and knowledge transfer.
- Experience structuring and managing Fixed Price engagements, including scope and change control.
- Experience delivering outcome-based engagements with defined success metrics.
- Proven ability to lead implementation planning and develop detailed delivery estimates.
- Strong knowledge of the P&C insurance industry in Australia and/or Japan.
- Familiarity with regulatory environments such as APRA or FSA.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and tracking financials at the program level.
- High-level understanding of cloud platforms and SaaS delivery models.
- Ability to manage and mitigate delivery risks in complex, globally distributed environments.
- Strong sales acumen for identifying and creating new opportunities.
- 15+ years of experience in delivering complex projects.
- Prior experience at a Tier 1 Global System Integrator or within a SaaS-based enterprise software company.
- Deep understanding of Australia and Japan P&C insurance market dynamics and digital transformation trends.
- Familiarity with APRA prudential standards and Japan FSA regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with Japanese or Australian insurers on technology modernisation programs.
- Experience managing global or multi-region customer programs across Asia-Pacific.
