About the Role
Be part of a collaborative, passionate & professional Allied Health team at NSW’s largest private hospital, working 3-5 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Screen, assess and diagnose speech, communication and swallowing disorders.
- Implement patient-centred interventions.
- Care for patients across Oncology, Stroke, Surgical, ICU, General Medical & Rehabilitation wards.
- Participate in a rotating roster for on-call Saturdays (normally once per month).
Requirements
- Qualified Speech Pathologist with relevant experience in a hospital acute care & rehabilitation setting.
- Strong clinical skills in patient-centred speech therapy care that is evidence-based.
- Proficiency in screening, assessments, diagnosis, and interventions using safe and current techniques for communication and swallowing disorders.
- Ability to utilize instrumental dysphagia assessments, including FEES, when indicated.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with SPA.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, can-do, positive attitude.
- Desire to go ‘above and beyond’ when interacting with patients, their families, visitors, and colleagues.
- Proven experience thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
