About the Role

As a Therapeutic Youth Worker, you will provide key support to young people aged 12 to 17 who have experienced childhood trauma, abuse, or neglect. Some may also have a disability or complex medical needs requiring specialized support, including personal care. You will be part of a dedicated team ensuring a safe, homelike environment where these young people can thrive, supporting them to learn independent life skills, develop problem-solving skills, and build positive relationships.

Helping young people build appropriate and positive relationships with others.
Working a roster which regularly includes afternoon, sleepover, and weekend shifts.

Requirements

Hold or be actively completing a Diploma in Community Services or related field (or higher) OR hold relevant experience and complete Diploma qualification offered by LWB and willing to be employed on a permanent basis.
A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate.
A current driver’s licence.
Experience supporting children and young people who have experienced childhood trauma, have a disability and/or exhibit pain-based behaviours of concern (ideally within a residential care setting).
An understanding of the importance of family/kinship connections to children and young people in placement.
Willingness to assist with activities of daily living, including personal care (if required).
Able to work a roster pattern that includes shifts across afternoon, overnight (including sleepover) and weekends.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register check.
