About the Role
St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic Church & School, a dynamic parish in North Austin, TX, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Specialist for the Facilities Department. The Maintenance Technician II maintains operating condition of all parish buildings and equipment, and completes simple repairs, utilizing knowledge of fundamental mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or heating and cooling skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, clean, and service all equipment, fixtures, buildings, and properties
- Occasionally set up rooms for events in the parish family center
- Assist with seasonal decorations in church and parish family center
- Assist with keeping the parish grounds clean (picking up debris, pressure washing, maintaining floor mats, and other cleaning tasks)
- Lift 80 pounds, and be comfortable climbing ladders and operating common hand and power tools
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Fluent in English
- 3-6 years experience in general maintenance, construction, or make-ready
- Basic level knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks
- Ability to operate word-processing software
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies
