About the Role
The Senior Estimator supports the pre-tender process by evaluating tenders, assessing risks, and estimating material, equipment, and manpower needs to provide reliable cost estimates for bidding projects.
Responsibilities
- Study, analyze, and evaluate tender documents from a technical viewpoint to identify risks and ensure compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with the design/drafting section for method optimization and cost efficiency during tender preparation.
- Liaise with Procurement to negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for project supplies.
- Finalize direct and indirect cost estimations and consolidate tender documents for management review.
- Provide necessary project clarifications and information to the Project Manager upon award.
- Advise the Project Manager on contractual rights and remedies considered during tendering.
- Generate tender status reports highlighting progress.
- Prepare monthly progress reports detailing tender wins/losses and reasons.
- Advise on project bidding strategies, techniques, and types.
- Assign estimating work, coach, mentor, and provide technical support to the estimating team.
- Coordinate with estimating and planning engineers to resolve conflicts and define the overall scope of work during the proposal phase.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of working experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
- 2 years of GCC experience is a plus.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, is required.
