About the Role

Mastercard's Services division focuses on customer acquisition, engagement, and retention through fraud and risk management, cybersecurity enhancement, and digital payment experience improvement. We offer value-added services, leveraging expertise, data-driven insights, and execution to help clients address their most challenging strategic questions, with a focus on technology and data across various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within small teams to answer and implement solutions for clients' strategic questions.
  • Take ownership of deliverables and build external relationships with clients.
  • Gain exposure to a range of industries, including financial services, retail, restaurants, and hospitality.
  • Participate in volunteer and team building experiences.
  • Gain exposure to leadership through networking sessions and speaker series.
  • Build relationships with clients to understand business needs, seek strategic solutions, and guide impactful decisions.
  • Receive hands-on mentorship from an experienced management team.
  • Make meaningful contributions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across different areas of the organization.
  • Gain exposure to business development, account management, and product management.
  • Leverage Mastercard's predictive analytics platform, Test & Learn®, and SQL to run data-backed business experiments for clients (Business Experimentation track).
  • Provide data science-based insights on product launches, marketing campaigns, customer loyalty, and pricing (Business Experimentation track).
  • Partner directly with clients to share findings and help determine effective implementation strategies (Business Experimentation track).
  • Support 2 to 4 clients concurrently, developing a deep understanding of client business challenges through longer-term engagements (typically 1 to 2 years) (Business Experimentation track).
  • Guide clients through strategic, tactical, operational, and transformational challenges to enhance performance and operations (Strategy & Transformation track).
  • Engage in diverse areas including product development, marketing, customer loyalty, and innovation (Strategy & Transformation track).
  • Interface with numerous Fortune 500 companies on engagements (Strategy & Transformation track).
  • Support 1 to 3 projects concurrently, with each project lasting approximately 8 to 16 weeks (Strategy & Transformation track).
  • Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of information being accessed.
  • Report any suspected information security violation or breach.
  • Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters students enrolled in a full-time degree program.
  • Expected graduation between Nov 2027 and June 2028.
  • Outstanding record of academic achievement.
  • Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in English language.
  • Proficiency in local office language (Japanese language).
  • Do not require work visa sponsorship to work in Japan now nor any time in the future.
  • Indicate first track preference in cover letter.
  • Submit an updated resume in English language.
