About the Role
The Linear Media Planner is responsible for developing, executing, and managing strategic cable and broadcast media plans while serving as a primary day-to-day client contact. This role blends analytical media planning with strong account management, ensuring campaigns are thoughtfully designed, accurately executed, and aligned with client business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategic linear media plans across cable and broadcast networks based on client goals, target audiences, and budgets
- Analyze historical client performance, ratings data, and network trends to inform planning decisions
- Build detailed media plans including network mix, daypart strategy, flighting, and budget allocations
- Partner with internal teams (Inventory, Sales, Research) to ensure plans are feasible and optimized
- Support Upfront and scatter planning, including revisions based on inventory availability and pricing changes
- Oversee campaign setup, stewardship, and pacing throughout the campaign lifecycle
- Monitor delivery, performance; identify risks and optimization opportunities
- Manage plan revisions, added value, makegoods, and schedule changes as needed
- Serve as client contact for planning updates, campaign status, and performance insights
- Work with Finance team on any billing or invoice issues or concerns
- Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and problem-solving
- Coordinate internally to ensure client expectations are met across execution and reporting
Requirements
- 2+ years of media experience (preferably with exposure to TV)
- Bachelors Degree
- Sports knowledge preferred
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time-management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication competency
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, making and meeting deadlines
- Possesses strong competence in math (specifically media math), analytical, and solutions-based skills
- Proficient in both Microsoft Power Point and Excel
- Team player with positive attitude always looking to contribute to the team’s success and client needs
- Self-starter who takes a proactive approach to his/her work and can also work independently in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
