About the Role
Curtis Lumber is seeking a Yard Material Handler and Sales Associate for its New Berlin location. This role involves taking phone calls, building quotes and orders, assisting customers in-store, and providing customer service in the outdoor yard by loading, unloading, and storing materials using proper handling practices and PPE.
Responsibilities
- Take phone calls, build quotes and orders for pick up or delivery.
- Assist with all customers’ needs as they enter the store.
- Provide exceptional customer service in our outdoor yard environment.
- Use proper material handling practices and PPE to load, unload, and store material.
- Understand the building materials marketplace and know product features.
- Meet prospect customers’ needs.
- Perform effective suggestive and upgrade selling and add-on sales.
- Utilize effective closing techniques.
- Follow up on quotes and convert them to orders.
- Share expertise with others.
- Manage inventory and merchandise product.
- Safely and properly use equipment and materials.
- Work outside year-round in a variety of seasonal weather conditions.
