About the Role

NRDC's India Program is seeking an intern to contribute to research and materials development as the team expands its work. The program focuses on renewable energy growth and access, cooling and energy efficiency, climate resilience and health, clean transportation, and climate goals and global engagement. The intern's specific project will be tailored to their interests and the program's priorities, offering collaboration with NRDC India colleagues and engagement with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the development of supportive research and materials.
Collaborate with NRDC India colleagues based in New Delhi.
Engage with relevant stakeholders and policymakers connected with the project.
Conduct climate and energy-related research in the Indian context.
Identify major barriers and potential solutions to clean energy access.
Advance sustainable and energy efficient cooling solutions.
Build and strengthen resilience to extreme heat.
Fast-track electric mobility targets and adoption.
Advance industrial decarbonization including green hydrogen and green steel.
Analyze India’s progress towards meeting its climate commitments.
Produce work products and deliverables such as blog posts, internal memos, and briefing memos.
Create stand-alone analysis or documents for NRDC reports, factsheets, and presentations.

Requirements

Currently a graduate student from Fordham's IPED program.
Excellent writing and research skills.
Knowledgeable about energy and climate change.
Self-motivation and ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
High proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook.
International experience is helpful.
