About the Role
Allied Maker creates handcrafted lighting fixtures, ensuring each product is meticulously touched, tested, and finished by skilled individuals. The role seeks someone dedicated to this craft and quality.
Responsibilities
- Assemble handcrafted lighting fixtures, including pendants, sconces, and chandeliers, from raw components to finished product.
- Read technical drawings.
- Work with hand tools and precision instruments.
- Interpret assembly specifications.
- Handle components finished by the metal finishing team, protecting their work through every stage of assembly.
- Work alongside a small team in a purpose-built shop floor.
- Take on more complex fixtures and contribute to process refinement as skills develop.
Requirements
- Some hands-on experience in woodworking, metalworking, electronics, auto, fabrication, or similar.
- Fine motor precision and comfort working at a bench for extended periods.
- Ability to read and follow technical diagrams and assembly documentation.
- High personal standard for finished quality.
- Reliable, on-time, and self-directed once given clear instruction.
- Curiosity about materials, process, and how things work.
- Closed-toe footwear required in shop areas.
