About the Role

Join the Avis Budget Group team as an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) to grow your automotive repair career while working on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles. This role is crucial for maintaining vehicle safety, reliability, and customer readiness, directly supporting vehicle performance and availability. You will perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance with minimal supervision, including oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake work, suspension repairs, and other routine or warranty-related maintenance. You may also assist senior technicians with complex diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to a positive customer experience by ensuring vehicles are ready when needed.

Responsibilities

Perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles with minimal technical supervision
Perform oil and fluid services
Perform tire repairs
Perform brake work
Perform suspension repairs
Perform other routine maintenance or warranty-related repairs based on experience level
Support senior technicians with more complex diagnostic and repair work

Requirements

Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience or automotive coursework with certifications
At least 1 ASE certification
Ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year
Working knowledge of ASE certification areas including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel
Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels
Possess a complete set of tools required for automotive repair and maintenance
Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit, and kneel frequently
Ability to enter, exit, and drive vehicles
Must be 18 years of age
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Requires regular, on-site presence
Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience is preferred
