About the Role

KGO-TV (ABC7) is the leading source for news, weather, and sports in the San Francisco Bay Area. The station focuses on major stories impacting quality of life, including housing, schools, climate change, and the economy, to provide perspective and solutions for the community. This internship offers exposure to broadcast television and digital production skills, focusing on video, audio, photography, writing, and design for marketing, community engagement, and news content. Interns will collaborate with News, Programming, Sales, and the President/General Manager’s office on various projects.

Responsibilities

Learn company mission and production workflow to contribute to content creation within the first 30 days
Support content producers
Assist in the field and at events
Write copy for digital platforms
Produce content with supervision
Identify areas for new perspectives
Lead and develop ideas with ABC7’s NextGen Youth Advisory Council

Requirements

Experience creating content on various social media platforms
Experience using social media platforms to engage with an audience
Experience or completed coursework in community engagement, corporate social responsibility, or a related area
Enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
At least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Able to maintain a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Fully available to work 20 hours per week during a Monday through Sunday schedule (could include nights and/or weekends)
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the San Francisco, California area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
