About the Role
Join our Financial Management team as a Sr. Contract Consultant, acting as the strategic force behind contract negotiations. This isn't just about reviewing terms—it's about executing agreements that advance the important goals and mission of the Federal Reserve. Reporting to the Procurement Manager over Contracts Administration, you'll be at the intersection of strategy, risk mitigation, and relationship building—transforming supplier engagements into optimized opportunities that fuel business initiatives and high-stakes projects.
Responsibilities
- Secure favorable contract terms using data and strategy
- Partner with business leaders to understand objectives and drive strategic execution
- Contribute to RFx events, shaping statements of work and analyzing supplier redlines for detail and risk
- Collaborate to address complex compliance challenges with creative, compliant solutions
- Advise the Procurement team, providing streamlined, strategic contracting support
- Participate in Federal Reserve System-wide projects and workgroups to shape procurement practices
- Train and mentor business customers on procurement policies to enhance transparency and decision-making
- Act as an Ariba expert, optimizing processes and elevating contracting efficiency
- Manage special projects and emerging priorities with agility and impact
Requirements
- 5+ years of contract negotiation experience with successful outcomes
- Strategic negotiator leveraging data, situational awareness, and proactive planning
- Problem-solver capable of translating complex issues into clear, actionable solutions
- Relationship builder effective in matrixed environments and influencing across all levels
- Process innovator skilled in simplifying workflows to accelerate outcomes
- Ability to manage competing priorities calmly and clearly under pressure
- Tech-savvy with strong MS Office skills and ideally SAP Ariba experience
