About the Role
Join our team as a Field Auto Appraiser and make a real impact on the auto claims process. In this role, you will write estimates directly at customer homes, repair shops, or tow yards, ensuring a smooth and efficient claims experience. You will engage in face-to-face, virtual, or written interactions to assess damages and finalize estimates with customers and repair shops. Tasks include repairable estimates, total loss assessments, and virtual inspections, offering a fast-paced, varied, and challenging opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Write estimates directly at customer homes, repair shops, or tow yards
- Ensure a smooth and efficient claims experience
- Engage in face-to-face, virtual, or written interactions to assess damages
- Finalize estimates with customers and repair shops

- Confidently and independently investigate casualty and applicable line of business claims
- Perform detailed reviews of damage and interpret policies to determine coverage
- Use phone, emails, and video chat with customers to facilitate a fast, fair, and easy claims process
- Offer customers their preferred communication method to discuss claim needs and provide updates
- Evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants
- Negotiate in accordance with all legal and business standard methodologies
- Incorporate tactics for handling challenging and complex negotiation situations
- Utilize multiple tools including estimate tools, job aids, and additional settlement platforms
- Protect the company financially by executing policies along policy agreements
- Keep a clear record of work in a claims system
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation is completed for each claim
Requirements
- 3-5 years' experience in auto collision estimating using CCC or Mitchell
- High School Diploma or a GED
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with customers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to write precise and comprehensive estimates
- Comfortable with utilizing technology and various platforms for claims processing
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage multiple assignments effectively
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as part of the job requirements
- Obtain an adjuster’s license in multiple markets within 60 days of hire
- Maintain all required licensing, including continuing education and state-affiliated requirements for renewal
- Attend 2 weeks of in-person training at the Dallas, TX office
- Dedicated, private workspace free from distractions when working from home
- Appropriate desk and seating when working from home
- Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload when working from home
- Submit to a background investigation
