About the Role

Lead and develop a team of stylists, ensuring exceptional client experiences. Drive retail and service results through marketing, networking, and client loyalty. Work behind the chair 8-16 hours weekly with personal clientele. Represent company values and contribute to JCPenney's traffic and revenue.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example in client interactions and support stylists to ensure exceptional client experience.
• Inspire associates to build client loyalty through coaching and feedback.
• Motivate and engage the team to provide exceptional service through communication, coaching, and recognition.
• Provide hair styling services including cut/style and chemical services for all hair types.
• Proactively recruit qualified stylists using social media, recruiting websites, referrals, and engagement at local salons and cosmetology schools.
• Provide frequent, balanced, and meaningful coaching and feedback to improve effectiveness.
• Create learning opportunities to drive associate career success.
• Ensure stylists complete available training by scheduling core and artistic education.
• Inspire loyalty, passion, and growth by fostering an inclusive, respectful, professional, and fun salon environment.
• Review reports to identify and prioritize salon opportunities, determine root causes, and set direction to achieve productivity, referral, rebooking, return rate, and client acquisition standards.
• Deliver salary cost objectives to achieve profit plan.
• Review SET guidance and adjust based on salon layout while maintaining core standards.
• Identify merchandising, replenishment, and recovery opportunities by actively walking the salon and backbar.
• Handle or direct the salon team to address product-related issues impacting clients.
• Manage backbar expenses according to plan.
• Consistently meet performance standards for product/service sales, client experience, productivity, and attendance.
• Review and follow company programs, including hiring practices and state safety regulations, and advise associates on related issues.

Requirements

• Current cosmetology license in the state of application.
