About the Role

This is a fixed-term role (until the end of 2026) supporting various HR activities in Japan as a Payroll and HR Generalist. The role involves performing as a Payroll and HR Generalist, supporting a diverse client group across BBPLC and BX, and working closely with HR specialist teams, business heads, and managers on talent acquisition and management, training and development, compensation, and employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll functions, including calculating employee pay, withholding taxes, and other deductions.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records for the business.
  • Process payroll for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees.
  • Calculate and manage tax and other contributions, withholdings, and payouts.
  • Administer and troubleshoot employee payroll records.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on payroll matters, including salary and wage calculations, overtime, bonuses, and commissions.
  • Handle statutory filings and respond to government institution notices related to statutory obligations.
  • Perform payroll statutory reporting and filing, liaising with local tax authorities.
  • Support system changes, maintain documentation, and ensure time-management, screening, and monthly sign-off processes are completed accurately and on time.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and third-party payroll providers.
