About the Role

Build and evolve systems for marketing spend impact analysis, integrating with major ad platforms and delivering causal inference results. This full-stack role involves Python/Flask API, React frontend, and data pipelines, focusing on improving mature codebases and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Own features end-to-end, from API design and database migrations through React UI and data visualization, to monitoring and on-call support.
  • Build and harden integrations with third-party ad platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok), designing for reliability across external APIs.
  • Evolve and modernize a production Flask + React application serving hundreds of customers, improving architecture incrementally while shipping continuously.
  • Design and build data-rich UIs, including charts, dashboards, and interactive tools for understanding complex experimental results.
  • Collaborate with scientists and data engineers to translate statistical outputs into actionable product experiences.
  • Use AI development tools daily to accelerate delivery, explore solutions, and enhance shipping capabilities.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and ensure the operational health of built systems.
  • Review code across the team, setting the bar for quality, clarity, and maintainability.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of experience building and shipping production web applications and APIs.
  • Strong full-stack capabilities: able to build well-structured API endpoints, write database migrations, and implement consuming frontends.
  • Proficiency in Python and React, or strong equivalents with willingness to ramp up.
  • Experience with Flask, SQLAlchemy, or similar frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience working in and improving large, established codebases, navigating legacy systems, making pragmatic tradeoffs, and leaving things better.
  • Comfort with cloud-native environments (GCP preferred), understanding deployment, monitoring, and operation of production services.
  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and data-heavy applications.
  • Track record of effectively using AI development tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) and articulating their impact on workflow.
  • Strong product sense, focusing on customer needs beyond ticket specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical tradeoffs and collaborate effectively with scientists, product managers, and engineers.
  • For Staff level: Demonstrated ability to lead technical direction for a system or product area, making scalable architectural decisions.
  • For Staff level: Experience driving cross-team or cross-system initiatives, coordinating changes across multiple services or repositories.
  • For Staff level: Track record of mentoring engineers and raising the team's technical bar through code review, design guidance, and leading by example.
  • For Staff level: Comfort operating with ambiguity, breaking down loosely defined problems, building plans, and driving completion without heavy oversight.
  • Bonus: Earlier stage startup experience.
  • Bonus: Experience with ad platform APIs (Meta Marketing API, Google Ads API).
  • Bonus: Experience with data visualization or experimentation platforms.
  • Bonus: Experience with third-party data integrations and ETL workflows.
